August 2022 Welcoming Communities Survey

Kia ora,

Welcoming Communities is a new programme supported by Southland District Council that aims to help newcomers feel more connected in their communities.

Being new to town can be hard and Welcoming Communities want to make it that little bit easier. Southland District Council is working towards creating a plan that, with your input, will be designed to suit the unique needs of those who have moved to Southland.

We would like to hear from all of our community – those who have shifted to Southland from elsewhere (whether it was last year or 20 years ago), those who have lived here all their lives, and those who were raised here, moved away and have since returned to Southland.

How can we, as a community, ensure our newcomers are connected, feel welcome and feel part of our community?

Please take a few minutes to share your experiences so that our local communities can roll out the welcome mat and make everyone feel at home.

Have your say before 5pm, Friday 19 August, 2022.
